What to know before you set off
National roads are in good shape and the Agadir–Marrakech–Casablanca motorway is tolled (around 100 MAD for Agadir–Marrakech). Gendarmerie checks are frequent and uneventful: keep the licence, contract and registration in the glovebox.

Can I leave the Agadir region with the car?
Yes, without restriction anywhere in Morocco and with no mileage to declare. Just tell us if you plan to go beyond Dakhla, for assistance cover.
Do I need an international driving permit in Morocco?
Not for European licences: a valid national licence is enough for a tourist stay. An international permit is still useful if your licence is not written in Latin script.
How much is fuel in Morocco?
Diesel runs around 12 to 13 MAD a litre. With a Dacia diesel at 5 l/100 km, budget roughly 65 MAD per 100 km driven.
Does the insurance cover the whole country?
Yes, comprehensive cover and 24/7 assistance apply across Morocco, southern provinces included. It does not cover leaving the country.
Can I return the car in another city?
Free return covers greater Agadir and Al Massira airport. For another city, message us: it is possible on request depending on distance.
Are southern Moroccan roads suitable for a normal car?
Yes. The routes to Sidi Ifni, Tafraoute, Guelmim and Tan-Tan are all tarmac. Only off-road desert tracks need a 4x4, and those are excluded from the contract.
