Driving to Taroudant from Agadir
Taroudant is the walled town of the Souss valley: seven kilometres of rammed-earth ramparts, two souks, and almost no tour coaches. By car it is 1 h 15 from Agadir on a straight, easy road — the simplest day trip in the region.

Take the N10 through Aït Melloul and the Souss valley: 80 km of well-kept national road between orange groves and argan trees. Allow 1 h 15 without stops. Tarmac the whole way, with no difficult sections.
What to see
The circuit of the ramparts by carriage or car, the Arab souk and the Berber souk, the tannery outside the walls, and Assarag square late in the day. Two to three hours cover the essentials, a full day if you stay for lunch.
Carrying on
From Taroudant the road to Tafraoute and the Anti-Atlas opens to the south, and the Tizi n'Test pass towards Ouarzazate to the east. Unlimited mileage makes those detours free.

No, the N10 is free. Only the A7 motorway towards Marrakech is tolled.

Yes. Two hours on site cover the ramparts and the souks. Set off early to avoid the afternoon heat in summer.
Is parking easy in Taroudant?
Yes, guarded car parks sit by the gates in the ramparts for a few dirhams. Avoid driving into the medina, the lanes are narrow.
